Paralympics-Sieger, Weltmeister, Weltrekordler, Lokalmatador und gleichzeitig ne richtig coole Socke – das ist unser Niko Kappel. Wir freuen uns riesig, dass Niko beim 1. Internationalen Leichtathletikmeeting des VfB Stuttgart am 29. Juli 2023 im Stadion Festwiese im Kugelstoßen an den Start gehen wird.

Im Mai 2022 stellte der VfB-Athlet mit Weiten von 14,94m und 14,99m innerhalb einer Woche gleich zwei Weltrekorde im Para-Kugelstoßen seiner Klasse auf und erst jetzt, Ende Juni, hat Niko mit 14,84m eine neue Weltjahresbestleistung rausgehauen. Mit diesem Erfolg im Rücken startet er nun bei den World Para Athletics Championships in Paris, ehe er dann beim Meeting seines Heimatvereins VfB antritt.

Wer Niko live in Aktion erleben möchte, sollte unbedingt am 29. Juli ab 18 Uhr zum VfB-Leichtathletikmeeting ins Stadion Festwiese kommen. Der Eintritt ist frei.

 Paralympics winner, world champion, world record holder, local hero and at the same time a really cool dude – that’s our Niko Kappel. We are delighted that Niko will be competing in the shot put at the 1st VfB Stuttgart International Athletics Meeting on 29 July 2023 in the Festwiese stadium.

In May 2022, the VfB athlete set two world records in the para shot put in his class with 14.94m and 14.99m within one week and now, at the end of June, Niko has set a new world best with 14.84m. With this success under his belt, he will now compete at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris before taking part in the meeting of his home club VfB.

If you want to see Niko live in action, you should definitely come to the VfB athletics meeting at the Festwiese stadium on 29 July from 6 pm. Admission is free.
